Les Femmes
This painting is what started it all, for me. Right in the middle of working on this, a story started to unfold. I sat down to write about the lives of these three women. They live in Paris, and they are 'ladies of the night. The faceless girl at the back, is but a child. Each has a different story to tell.Needless to say, the painting is unfinished, there's a little more work to do. [Oil on canvas]
Phoebe
I love to paint people. I just find them so interesting. I start with the real thing, but often - particularly when it's a child, they don't stay still for a moment - so I take a photograph. I usually manage to get some brush strokes or lines in first. This one is pastel on sandpaper.
Indian Prayer.
My daughter has made a few trips to India. She comes back with the most beautiful photographs. I have a hard time choosing which one I want to paint.

A friend posed for this - In an old t-shirt and jeans - I just needed the lines.
I painted his face and put different clothes on him! I love painting from life
